Get yo' Franks
Many diehard fans don't think twice about their food selections at games. Food, like hot dogs, beer, soda, water, candy, and other items are almost always overpriced. But in the spur of the moment, the diehards are only a fan if they buy the product! Therefore, this causes some in game income.
When someone is sitting in a seat at a Yankees game, and that person is a Yankee fan, that person feels like he is surrounded by other who have the same sort of ideas as he does. They all cheer for the same thing, boo at the same thing, and if they are all eating/drinking something, that person will probably want to buy it as well. This income of overpriced material pays back what the original cost of it was and then some. This extra money would be able to pay off janitors, security, venders, and sometimes bills.
Baseball has lost a lot of its popularity because people can no longer afford to go to games to pay for items that cost at least double the actual price. Ballparks are all different sizes so the admission price always differs. This, along with the overpriced seats, prevent a day trip to the ballpark from being an option for many people. To make things worse, the ballparks won't let you bring your own food or drinks in.

Baseball Revenue
For the cable television revenue in total the 30 MLB teams bring in around 923 million dollars. The total revenue of MLB 2012 was 7.5 billion dollars. This is interesting because MLB has 10 times more games per team, so you would assume that the MLB would be making a lot more money. If you thought this, you thought wrong. The MLB makes next to nothing per game compared to the NFL. This is because people barely watch the games. Also in many places games are blacked out, because the TV networks figure if people aren't buying tickets, they're not watching the games.
Football Revenue
In total of the 32 NFL teams they rake in a revenue of 8.3 billion dollars. NFL already rakes in $2-3 billion per year till 2020 from NBC, CBS, and FOX so they could broadcast the football games. The NFL is definately a revenue powerhouse. It has many endorsement deals with big companies like Coors and Coca Cola, and it has the lucrative deals from the television companies. This means that not only are they getting money from sponsors to have their names flash up during the games, but they also get money from the people televising the game. This means that the NFL is much more efficient and overall a better business model than the MLB. This in itself
